Results Process

What does an abnormal result mean?

About 3% of people have abnormalities that require further investigation.

Additional tests recommended may include a Holter monitor (a 24 or 48 hour ECG), an exercise stress test and more detailed imaging of the heart with an MRI scan. It is important to realise that a further review does not necessarily mean you have a cardiac condition. However, to provide a full diagnostic evaluation this further information is required.

About 1% of cases will have conditions that are not life-threatening but require ongoing monitoring and may require some minor lifestyle modification.

Approximately 1 in 300 people will have a potentially serious condition that will require ongoing lifestyle modification, treatment or surgery.
